The SL2 is a direct replacement for Rane’s previous entry-level digital vinyl box, the SL1. It has a USB 2.0 port rather than 1.1, technically better sound (44.1 or 48kHz sampling rate, software switchable, 24-bit), and ASIO and Core drivers to allow the audio interface to be used with third-party software as well as just a DJ interface. The Rane SL2 for Serato Scratch Live is a compact and professional 2-deck interface that connects one or 2 standard vinyl or CD turntables to your computer using a single USB cable and featuring audio connections to line inputs on your DJ mixer. The Rane SL series of interfaces with Serato Scratch Live set the standard for vinyl emulation. DJs currently using Serato Scratch Live with supported Rane hardware have the option to migrate to the new and improved Serato DJ free of charge. If you’re familiar with Scratch Live, the transition to Serato DJ is easy and intuitive. Serato DJ 1.6 is a free upgrade supporting the Sixty-One, Sixty-Two, Sixty-Eight, SL2, SL3, and SL4.

The SL2 supports RIAA phono or CD line input levels with rear panel switches. When a computer is not in use, or during DJ changeover, input signals may route directly to the SL2 outputs using the Active THRU setting to play regular vinyl or CDs.
